Today I am going to talk about Breast Self Examination, which is a self-examination of the breast. Every woman should have information about breast self-examination. The appropriate time to perform a breast self-examination is five to seven days after the end of your period. There are four steps to breast self-examination. Through this video, we will now understand all four steps thoroughly: Step 1: Stand in front of a mirror and check for any changes in the size, skin, or nipple of the breast. Step 2: Raise both hands up and check again to see if there is any dimpling or puckering in the nipple or breast skin, or any change in the skin of the lower part of the breast. Step 3: Check the breast by hand using three fingers with gentle pressure in a circular motion, examining the entire breast from top to bottom and right to left to check if any lump is felt. Step 4: Check the nipple by pressing it like this to check for any discharge of blood or fluid. During a breast self-examination, if you notice any changes in the skin, lumps, swelling, or skin pulling or dimpling, immediately show it to your doctor.
