Transcript

Hello everyone, I am Dr. Ajita Kendre, Consultant Radiation Oncologist at Manipal Hospital Baner. This is about Master Vivansh, a five-year-old boy who was diagnosed with craniopharyngioma in 2023 and underwent surgery that same year before being placed on regular follow-up. In May 2026, he presented with symptoms including nausea, vomiting, giddiness, and headache, with an MRI scan showing local recurrence. Following another surgery in May 2026 confirming a WHO Grade I local recurrence of craniopharyngioma, he was referred to Manipal Hospital Baner for adjuvant radiation therapy. We administered 54 Gray in 30 fractions over six weeks using the advanced VMAT technique, which he tolerated extremely well. His clinical condition has improved significantly, and he will now continue with regular follow-ups. Sharing his perspective, his father Shashwat Kumar Nayak noted that after coming from Odisha for his son's treatment, they consulted Dr. Ajita Kendre based on online research. Although they initially wondered how such a young child would manage 30 radiation sessions, they expressed immense gratitude to the supportive staff, the entire radiation team, and Dr. Ajita Kendre as Vivansh successfully completed his final session.
