Oncology nutrition and malnutrition
Cancer and treatment can change appetite, swallowing, digestion and nutrient use. Unplanned weight or muscle loss can signal malnutrition. Early support from the cancer team or an oncology dietitian can help.
What remains uncertain
There is no single cancer diet. A safe plan depends on clinical assessment and local food options.
Questions for your care team
- Should I see an oncology dietitian?
- Which weight or intake changes should I report?
- Are supplements unsafe with my treatment?
- What can help my current eating symptoms?
