Follow-up after an abnormal cancer screening result
An abnormal screening result does not diagnose cancer. It means follow-up is recommended, such as another test, imaging, examination or biopsy. Arrange the recommended follow-up and ask when it should happen.
What remains uncertain
Risk and urgency cannot be judged from the word “abnormal” alone. The exact report and clinical context matter.
